Value for Money: |
Boston represents better value for money than San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York or Washington D.C, however the cost of living in Boston is higher than the national average. A meal in an average restaurant will cost $30 per person, a beer $5-$6 and a coffee around $4. |
Boston is the capital of Massachusetts, and is one of the oldest cities in the United States. In 1630, Puritan colonists from England founded the city and in the late 18th century, Boston was the location of several major events during the American Revolution, including the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. The city is on the Charles River and has a large harbour. It is also home to Harvard, the oldest University in America. The city is not laid out on a grid system, but more European in style and is compact and easy to walk around. Logan International Airport has good international connections and transfers to the city can be by road or ferry.
