Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and is located on the south-eastern coast of the country. The city is built on 14 islands (and connected to another 30.000s islands) and the oldest section is “Gamla Stan” located on the original small islands and has a medieval street layout. More recently, Stockholm has become a modern, technologically-advanced, and ethnically diverse city. Many older districts were torn down and replaced with modern architecture. Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is 26 miles north of Stockholm and the Arlanda Express train runs every 15 minutes and takes 20 minutes to go to the central station.
