The city of Toledo is a Historic Heritage Site and the capital of Castilla-La Mancha. Known as the City of Three Cultures, because of its Christian, Islamic and Jewish influences, Toledo is also the land of Don Quixote. The city is home of the Spanish Empire and an impressive natural fortress surrounded by walls and the river Tagus. It is located 80 km from Madrid Barajas International Airport with 22 daily services via high speed train connecting it with Madrid 30 minutes. There is a new motorway linking Madrid Toledo, Andalucia, Lisbon and Valencia.
The city has three major conference centers: Talavera Ferial (over 47,000 m2, with an auditorium for 1,200 people), the Auditorium Hotel Beatriz Toledo (with 608 seats) and the Congress Miradero (with an auditorium of 999 seats, in the historic centre) which is due to open in 2010.
